In its early testing days, the car wore race camouflage and underwent rigorous vMax testing, active aerodynamic development/Race Mode calibration, chassis and damper tuning, Pirelli tyre evaluation, Akebono brake system approval and the wider programme associated with McLaren’s sub-seven-minute Nürburgring objective of which it accomplished.
